About the club

A slope to be proud of, owned by its members and run by volunteers.

Set on Pendle Hill in the Ribble Valley, we have something for skiers of every ability, from families just getting started to a race squad that competes nationally.

The slope is built on sound investment. It is member-owned and every pound earned is reinvested in the infrastructure, which is why we have one of the best dry slopes around.

We are proud of what comes next as well. Whether you want a gold medal or simply to feel confident on your next winter holiday, there is a place for you here.

What is a dry slope?

A dry ski slope is a slope surfaced with materials that mimic snow and stay stable at room temperature, so you can ski, snowboard or tube where natural snow is unreliable. Many are misted or sprayed with water to add speed and cut friction heat on equipment. They are found mostly in the UK and the Netherlands, where real snow is harder to count on.

Equipment hire and clothing

Hire

Skis, boots, poles and helmets are available. Trained fitters set your bindings for your height, weight and ability. Allow a little extra time on your first visit.

What to wear

You do not need this season's snow fashion. Sturdy gloves are essential, plus a long-sleeved top and long trousers suitable for the weather, which can vary a lot on the hill.

PENDLE PROUD

Where The Rocket started.

Dave Ryding began skiing at Pendle. His World Cup journey is an inspiration to the club’s racers and first-timers alike.
